18 Dec:
Arrival / Nairobi

Jambo! Upon arrival at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport in Nairobi, you will be met by our representative who will greet you and assist with the transfer to Sankara Hotel for overnight.

You will find a city that is lively, cosmopolitan and full of contrasts. It's a place of smart office workers, mansions and expensive suburban shopping centers as well as overcrowded slums of people trying to struggle on as best they can. Nairobi, one of Africa's major cities: the UN's fourth "World Centre", and East Africa's hub for commerce and aid, displays enormous vitality and buzz. It's hard to imagine a city with a more fascinating variety of people, and almost all of them newcomers. Most are immigrants from rural areas, drawn to the presence and opportunities of money, and Nairobi seems to accept everyone with complete tolerance. It’s hard to imagine that this city celebrated its 100th anniversary in 1999 and that where it now stands, only Maasai manyatta stood barely a century ago!
